LITIGATION

Friedman, Enriquez & Carlson engages in a broad-based litigation practice which spans business, real estate, employment, commercial, entertainment and personal matters. Our litigation style is aggressive, when necessary and appropriate, and our results are excellent.

Over the years, we have built a successful litigation practice, with experience in pre-litigation dispute resolution, including mediation; litigation procedure and provisional remedies to protect clients' rights and preserve assets during lawsuits; arbitration; and trial work. We represent both individuals and business clients, including partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies, among others.

Our litigation attorneys have successfully litigated disputes involving business and commercial matters, contracts, unfair competition, fraud and other business torts, labor relations (including wrongful termination), insurance defense and coverage matters, trademark infringement, entertainment, disputes among shareholders, partners and joint venturers, derivative suits, real estate disputes, construction defects, personal injury, legal malpractice and a variety of bankruptcy court and administrative agency matters.


 
CORPORATE/TRANSACTIONAL

On the business side, our legal services include the formation and structuring of new business entities and ongoing operational representation. Our emphasis is on facilitating business transactions and making deals happen. Our expertise includes the acquisition and disposition of businesses and the private placements of securities and franchisor-franchisee representation, involving both federal and state regulatory authorities.

We also counsel clients on intellectual property, including statutory and common-law copyrights and trade secrets. Specialists in patent, trademark and copyright law work closely with our firm.


 
REAL ESTATE

The firm offers extensive crossover experience in real estate-related issues, including transactional planning, negotiation, documentation, facilitation and execution. More specifically, these areas include real estate sales and acquisitions; development and syndication and contractor operational problems; lease negotiation and documentation for both landlords and tenants in residential, industrial and commercial contexts; condominium homeowner association representation; and brokerage commission matters.

We also offer considerable expertise in all aspects of environmental law and land use including, but not limited to, a knowledge of federal and state legislation concerning water and air rights, noise abatement, coastal and inland development and the regulation of pesticides, pollutants, hazardous waste and toxic materials.


 
ESTATE PLANNING, TRUSTS & PROBATE

Our philosophy of estate planning is to begin by assessing our clients needs based on family and business objectives and property interests. We analyze our clients gross and net estate values as well. Estate planning services include wills, family trusts, irrevocable trusts, charitable gifts and trusts and lifetime gifting, among others. Because we work closely with other specialists, we can handle all aspects of trust administration and probate, including tax return preparation that complies with all applicable regulations.
